Windows 8/8.1 Desktop Review

December 8, 2013 UPDATE: I mentioned in the article that Windows 8/8.1 does not have a competent search function. After speaking to a friend at college who had a functioning Windows 8.1 search function, I found out that I was wrong about this. Windows 8.1 was not finding certain administrative tasks because I disabled indexing

So I was browsing around on Razer’s website www.razerzone.com and I came across this amazing software of theirs. They simply call it Razer Surround. This software turns any regular stereo headphones into 7.1 surround sound. I have used this for about a week now and I’m very happy with the results it has produced. Let’s

Decisions Vs. Character

Wednesday, 17 April 2013 by

Within the soon to be ending console generations, I have noticed two particular trends in video games, the ability to choose your character’s actions, thus creating enticing characters in genres outside of RPG’s, and 90′s point and click adventure games. This generation alone seems to have produced more memorable characters for me than any other

Being that Windows 8 is already out, and most aren’t quite ready to undertake the overhaul in fear of software/hardware incompatibility, and… we’ll… just the new intimidating GUI Win8 brings to the table, I thought I would take the time to help some users tune their Win7 machines. Mind you, many of these tweaks are transitional with both Vista or even Win8 systems if you happen to be running them.

Windows 7 is already a much more elegant, better performing and responsive operating system than its past predecessors, however there are some tricks, tweaks and changes you can do yourself to speed her up even more. If you were someone who upgraded to Win7 from a somewhat older PC, and feel that your hardware is likely a little bit behind, some of these methods may be a cheaper solution than going out and getting a brand new machine. Through implementing these modifications, you can very much increase your system performance in a very short period of time.

Bioshock Infinite Review

BioShockInfinite_2013_04_09_23_19_41_873

I beat Bioshock Infinite twice within the first week it was out. Not for achievements, not to do a harder difficulty (even though that’s what I did), but because the instant the story was over, I wanted to experience that wonder again. I wasn’t ready to be finished, I wanted to stay in Columbia. I clicked new game the instant I was placed back on the main menu.

I feel like I’m already getting off on the wrong foot with my audience here. It’s like walking into a film appreciation meeting and saying that you enjoyed Transformers: Dark of the Moon. Call of Duty has become the new popular thing to hate, along with EA, always online DRM, and that 12 year old kid that said things in voice chat that no 12 year old kid should ever have the capability of saying.

I’ve been playing Call of Duty since the original, and although I’ve had a few issues, I’ve found myself enjoying Black Ops 2 more than any other Call of Duty game, but not entirely for the reasons that people may think. I’m the same guy that said Black Ops 1 was simply meh, and Modern Warfare 3 was simply not holding up to the previous games. But I prefer Black Ops 2 not exactly for the game play, but for the customization of your character.

Crysis 3: Performance Reports

Friday, 05 April 2013 by

Hey everyone. So I have started playing the Crysis 3 campaign, which is pretty awesome to say the least. It differs in a handful of ways from previous titles of Crysis, but none which I can say make the franchise look bad.

I expected it to be roughly as hardware intensive as the BF3 platform, but it’s a little more complicated than I thought! Of course, it is Crysis, so it’s a given that anyone will require a good rig to run it.. but Yeesh. My system is being brought to it’s knees! I can run at about 30-40fps on all high-settings, but I like to play with at least two to three settings on Ultra for that extra “glamor” which Crysis brings to the table. (Go big or go home right?)
