December 26 Update: Left 4 Dead 2 is now free on Steam until 10 am PST (1 pm EST) later today. Links are in the Sources section.

Original Post: First it was GOG, now it’s Steam and Origin that are having their holiday sales. Granted, they began a while ago, but I haven’t been providing much news about them since there haven’t been many games on sale that are supported by the community…and I’ve been a bit lazy thanks to the holiday break from school. Anyway, I’ve done some poking around and it turns out that we’ve finally got some sales for DG-supported games now.

First, Steam. Call of Duty: Ghosts is currently on sale with a 33% discount. It’s a Daily Deal, so that’s probably the cheapest it’ll be for the rest of the sale and the time being. With the discount, it costs $40.19 (original price is $59.99). Arma III is also on sale with a 40% discount, making the price $35.99 instead of its usual $59.99. While I’m on the subject of Arma, I should point out that the popular mod for Arma II, DayZ, is being released as a standalone game and had its early access alpha version released on December 16. No sale on it though since it’s an early access game. Call of Duty: Ghosts will still be on sale for another eleven hours as a Daily Deal before moving to the Yesterday’s Big Deals section, where it will still be on sale for the same price until the new Daily Deals expire. I was a bit late to inform you all of the Arma III sale though. It will be gone after eleven hours since it’s already in the Yesterday’s Big Deals section. Unfortunately, I also missed the Counter-Strike: Global Offensive sale. It’s still $7.49, down 50% from its usual $14.99 thanks to the standard holiday sale, but it won’t be as cheap at the 75% discount that it was going for a little while ago.

Now for Origin. Its End of Year Sale will continue until January 7 with discounts of up to 40%. Battlefield 4 and its digital deluxe version are currently on sale for 30% off. Their base prices are $59.99 and $69.99 respectively, meaning that the discount lowers them to $41.99 and $48.99 respectively. The Battlefield 4 and Premium Membership Bundle is only 18% off though, making the price $89.98 instead of $109.98.

For those of you who like to get your games cheaper but don’t want to wait several months or more before the base price drops and miss out on playing with the rest of DG, this is the perfect time to pick up your copy of these games.
